Shuttle Storm Abbotsford Announces First Badminton Tournament for November 21

Shuttle Storm Abbotsford is preparing to host its inaugural badminton tournament on Saturday, 21 November 2026, at the University of the Fraser Valley Athletic Centre’s North Gym in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

A new local competition

The event is planned to feature ten singles and doubles divisions for players aged 13 to 50-plus. Organisers say the tournament aims to create more competitive opportunities locally and help grow badminton participation in the Fraser Valley.

Local founders Ashish Dawar and Rakesh Arya launched Shuttle Storm Badminton Club with support from Summit and Sanjeev Grover. The club hopes to develop more opportunities for coaching and regular play in the area.
