Diego Gomez Scores Stunning Halfway-Line Goal in Brighton’s 5-0 Win Over Crystal Palace

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Diego Gomez produced a spectacular strike from near the halfway line during the club’s 5-0 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace on 18 October 2026.

The Paraguayan spotted goalkeeper Walter Benitez off his line and lifted an audacious effort into the net. The goal drew comparisons with David Beckham’s famous long-range strike against Wimbledon in 1996.

Brighton’s commanding derby win also featured goals from Yasin Ayari, Charalampos Kostoulas and Jack Hinshelwood, as well as an own goal.
