Liverpool Manager Andoni Iraola Raises Player Welfare Concerns After Injury Setbacks
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has raised concerns about player recovery amid a demanding schedule after Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong were forced off during Liverpool’s 2-1 win at Brentford.
According to Liverpool FC’s official post-match report, Szoboszlai was substituted after 32 minutes following a recurrence of an existing fitness problem. Frimpong entered at half-time but also had to leave the field shortly afterwards.
Iraola explained that a recent away Champions League fixture had left limited recovery time and made team selection difficult. He said Liverpool would be without both players for some time, although no precise return date was confirmed.
