Catch-and-Release Tightlined Slam Fishing Tournament Set for 16–18 October
The ninth annual Tightlined Slam is scheduled for 16–18 October 2026 on western Long Island Sound in the United States, with a focus on conservation-minded catch-and-release fishing.
The event features fly-fishing and light-tackle divisions targeting striped bass, bluefish, false albacore and bonito. Fishing is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, with a captain’s meeting on Friday and an awards gathering on Sunday.
Organisers say the competition raises funds and awareness for science-based marine fisheries management. The event is operated by the nonprofit Tightlined Conservation Coalition.
