Ampang Fishing Contest Draws Nearly 500 Anglers to Tasik Pandan Perdana

Nearly 500 anglers took part in the Raja Tasik Selangor fishing competition at Tasik Pandan Perdana in Ampang, Selangor, according to a report published on 5 October 2026.

The four-hour event was organised by Ampang Jaya Municipal Council with local partners to promote recreational fishing and the lake as an eco-tourism attraction. Organisers reported that almost 300 fish were caught.

Mohd Arif Akhlas from Ampang won the contest after landing a 0.925kg haruan, receiving RM4,000 in prize money. Participants came from several Malaysian states.
