Hamilton Takes First Ferrari Grand Prix Pole at 2026 Mexico City GP
Lewis Hamilton claimed his first Grand Prix pole position for Ferrari at the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, setting a lap of 1:16.514 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on 31 October.
The seven-time world champion beat Mercedes driver George Russell by just 0.009 seconds, with Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc third. The result was Hamilton’s first Grand Prix pole since 2023, not 2021.
Hamilton’s qualifying performance put Ferrari at the front of the grid for Sunday’s race, while Mercedes championship leader Kimi Antonelli qualified fifth before grid penalties were applied.
