Toyota Series Championship Reaches Cut Day at Pickwick as Logan Dyar Defends Early Lead

The Toyota Series Championship moved into its second day at Pickwick Lake on 6 November, with Logan Dyar holding the opening-round lead and competitors facing the cut for the final day.

Major League Fishing’s Friday coverage reported a clear departure from the previous morning: there was no fog delay, allowing the field to leave at the designated start time. Only the top 40 professionals and co-anglers at the end of the second day will advance to Saturday’s final.

Dyar holds a narrow opening advantage

The organiser’s first-day results put Dyar in front with 20 pounds, 13 ounces. Landon Lawson was second with 20 pounds, leaving a margin of just 13 ounces between the leading two professionals.

MLF also reported that barely more than two pounds separated the top ten after the opening round. That compact leaderboard makes the second day important at both ends of the qualifying picture: competitors are trying to improve their title position while also ensuring they survive the cut.

Normal start changes the day’s conditions

The opening day had been held up for around three hours by fog, according to MLF’s account. An on-time second-day departure gives anglers a different working schedule, although it does not by itself determine the quality of the catches.

The distinction is relevant because a tournament’s available fishing time and an angler’s place on the leaderboard are separate factors. More time creates opportunities, but those opportunities still have to produce qualifying fish.

Final-day places and major prize at stake

The championship runs from 5–7 November in Counce, Tennessee. Event information lists a top professional award of up to US$235,000, including the conditional Phoenix MLF Bonus, as well as qualification for REDCREST 2027 for the winning professional.

The phrase “up to” is important to the published prize structure: the maximum includes a bonus rather than representing an unconditional cash award to every possible winner.

For now, the immediate contest is the cut. Dyar has an early lead, Lawson is close behind and the narrow spread among the front runners leaves the title picture open as Pickwick’s championship field is reduced for the final day.
