NPFL Announces 2027 Schedule with Lake Mitchell Championship and Six Regular-Season Stops

The National Professional Fishing League has outlined its 2027 calendar, naming Lake Mitchell in Alabama as the championship venue and confirming the locations of five regular-season tournaments. One regular-season venue remains to be announced.

The league’s schedule announcement, carried by Bass365, gives anglers a clearer basis for planning travel and preparation ahead of the new campaign. The calendar separates the championship, earned through 2026 performances, from the six-event regular season.

Lake Mitchell to host championship

The championship is scheduled for 4–6 March, with the City of Clanton serving as host. The announcement lists 42 qualifiers from the previous season. Their immediate target will be a standalone championship result before the regular-season programme begins later that month.

Confirmed 2027 competition dates

  • Championship: Lake Mitchell, Alabama — 4–6 March.
  • Stop 1: Lewis Smith Lake, Alabama — 24–26 March.
  • Stop 2: Norfork Lake, Arkansas — 15–17 April.
  • Stop 3: Lake Murray, South Carolina — 12–14 May.
  • Stop 4: venue to be confirmed — 10–12 June.
  • Stop 5: St. Lawrence River — 16–18 September.
  • Stop 6: Neely Henry Lake, Alabama — 21–23 October.

A season requiring adaptable preparation

The spread of venues and dates means competitors will need to prepare for different waters rather than rely on one familiar setting. Travel logistics, equipment choices and practice plans can all change as a tour moves between lakes and rivers.

For followers, the published dates provide a useful outline of the season while making the outstanding decision clear: the June competition has a date, but its location is still unresolved.

Season finale carries two further stakes

The league announcement places the 2027 Angler of the Year decision at Neely Henry Lake in October. That final regular-season event will also complete qualification for the 2028 championship, giving the closing stop consequences beyond its individual tournament result.

The March championship and the regular-season points race therefore serve different purposes. Lake Mitchell rewards anglers who qualified through the previous campaign; the six later stops establish the performance record that will shape the following year’s championship field.

Next step for prospective competitors

The announcement sets midnight on Friday 13 November 2026 as the application deadline for anglers seeking a place in the 2027 field. Applicants should check the league’s current requirements when preparing their submissions.

With most venues identified, attention now turns to completing the calendar and assembling the field. The remaining venue announcement will fill the final geographical gap in the regular-season schedule.
