Michael Carrick Under Pressure After Manchester United Lose 3-0 to Bournemouth

Manchester United suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday, 25 October 2026, extending their winless run to eight matches in all competitions and increasing scrutiny of head coach Michael Carrick.

Bournemouth strike twice before half-time

Rayan put Bournemouth ahead in the 38th minute, and Marcus Tavernier doubled the visitors’ lead five minutes later. Evanilson added a third in the 71st minute to seal the result at Old Trafford. United captain Bruno Fernandes was left on the bench.

Carrick responds to questions about his future

Carrick acknowledged responsibility for United’s poor results and said he was continuing his work as normal. He also said his gesture toward supporters after the match was not intended as a farewell. As of this report, no official dismissal announcement had been confirmed; speculation about his future should not be treated as a completed decision.
