Pearly Tan and Thinaah Finish Runners-Up at 2026 French Open

Malaysia’s Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan reached the women’s doubles final of the 2026 French Open badminton tournament but finished runners-up to Japan’s Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto.

Three-game final

The Malaysian pair took the opening game 21–10 before Fukushima and Matsumoto recovered to win the next two games 21–17 and 21–16 on 25 October.

Tan and Thinaah had advanced to the final after defeating Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi 21–17, 22–20 in the semi-finals. Their run remains a significant Malaysian performance even though they did not take the title.
