Malaysia’s Genevie Lim and Low Zi Yu made history at the 2026 World Junior Badminton Championships by winning the country’s first women’s doubles title at the event.
The pair defeated Japan’s Nijika Kamata and Shizuku Kashio 15-7, 9-15, 15-12 in the final, according to the Badminton Association of Malaysia.
The achievement ended a long wait for Malaysia in the discipline. Genevie and Zi Yu had reached the final without dropping a game before being pushed to three games in the title match.
