India Await Para-Badminton Squad Approval Ahead of Asian Para Games

India had not finalised approvals for its para-badminton and para-table-tennis contingents with a week remaining before the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games, The Times of India reported on 11 October.

The sports ministry had approved 128 athletes across eight disciplines. Separate approvals were still expected for para badminton, para table tennis, boccia and team officials. The Games are scheduled for 18–24 October 2026.

Pramod Bhagat and Bhavina Patel had been named as opening-ceremony flag-bearers even as their sport contingents awaited approval. Para fencing was absent from the approved line-up. The report did not establish a definitive reason for every selection decision.
